TITHING IS NOT THE ONLY KEY TO PROSPERITY
(PROSPERITY REQUIRES WISDOM AND STEWARDSHIP)
Tithing is an important biblical practice, but it is not the only principle of financial blessing.
God does not want us merely to give money; He wants to develop us into faithful stewards and channels of blessing.
Job 22:21: “Acquaint yourself with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you.”
1. GIVE TO OTHERS AND BECOME MEMORABLE
Luke 6:38: “Give, and it will be given to you...”
Many people want others to remember them when they need help, yet they rarely invest in others' lives.
We should develop a lifestyle of generosity.
When we bless people genuinely, relationships are strengthened, and God can use those relationships in ways we never anticipated.
2. INVEST IN PEOPLE WHILE YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY
Luke 16:9: “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon...”
Jesus' parable of the unjust steward teaches us about foresight and wise relationships, not dishonesty.
We should never assume that our current position will last forever.
Today we may be employed; tomorrow we may need employment.
Therefore, do not mistreat people because you currently have power over them.
The person we ignore today may become the person God uses to help us tomorrow.
3. SERVE BEFORE YOU EXPECT TO BE PAID
2 Corinthians 8:5: “They gave themselves first to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.”
One of the greatest mistakes young people can make is believing that a certificate automatically guarantees employment.
A volunteer position can become an extended interview.
4. MAKE SACRIFICIAL OFFERINGS TO GOD
Malachi 3:8: “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.”
Tithing and offerings are different. Tithing recognizes God's ownership and our obedience. Offerings express gratitude, worship, generosity, and sacrifice.
The New Testament also teaches that giving should be intentional and willing.
2 Corinthians 9:7: “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Therefore, we should not give merely because we are pressured, nor should we treat giving as a transaction through which we attempt to force God to bless us.
Our giving should come from faith, love, gratitude, and obedience.
THE PRINCIPLE BEYOND TITHING
Tithing should not make us think: “I have given God His portion; therefore, I can do whatever I want with the rest.”
The remaining resources also require wisdom and stewardship.
God can bless the work of our hands, but we must be willing to work with what He gives us.
Deuteronomy 8:18: “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth.”
Our goal should not simply be to receive wealth, but to become trustworthy stewards who can handle God's blessings without being destroyed by them.
