Spirits that hinder your progress
1 Thessalonians 5:21 “Test all things; hold fast what is good.”
1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
1. Spirit of Failure – It causes repeated defeat, frustration, and inability to fulfill one's God-given purpose despite effort, ability, or opportunity. It manifests as recurring setbacks, missed opportunities, discouragement, and unfinished assignments.
2. Spirit of Limitation – It places invisible barriers in areas such as career, ministry, finances, education, relationships, or personal growth, resulting in stagnation and restricted advancement
3. Spirit of Poverty - It may manifest as continual financial losses, inability to retain wealth, dependence despite opportunities. It is distinct from temporary financial hardship and also from the biblical virtues of humility or voluntary simplicity.
4. Spirit of Complacency – It causes spiritual and personal laziness, indifference (lack of interest/passion), and contentment with mediocrity.
5. Spirit of Witchcraft - This refers to a demonic influence associated with manipulation, intimidation, deception, control, rebellion against God, and involvement in occult practices. It seeks to replace God's authority with human or demonic control and often operates through fear, domination, and counterfeit spiritual power.
6. Spirit of Sickness (Spirit of Infirmity) - In Scripture (Luke 13:11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up.). However, the Bible does not teach that every illness is caused by an evil spirit. Some sicknesses have natural causes, while others may involve spiritual oppression. Christians therefore should avoid assuming that every disease is demonic and should seek both prayer and appropriate medical care.
