What does this phrase ‘it is finished’ mean to you and me?
He meant there was nothing else to do, nothing left to pay. He paid it all, completely, permanently. There are no things in our lives that we have to fight for ourselves. We don’t have to struggle in life.
If Jesus has sent us or the work has been started by Him, He will provide all the requirements. The problem is that sometimes we do things before the right time or too late. We must maintain the pace of the Shekinah glory to succeed.
He meant that God’s work to redeem mankind was finished and that man would no longer be put to death by the law. We were sold to Satan, so Satan had legal possession of us. Therefore, the law had to be used to redeem us. If you have been accused in court and then you become a born-again Christian, that will not cause the case to be dismissed in court. Legal procedures must be followed to dismiss the case. Satan had a title deed given to us by Adam, of his own free will. Therefore, redemption was inevitable to bring us back to God.

Kishazi cha “Imekwisha” kina maana gani hasa kwangu na kwako?
Bwana aliposema hivyo alimaanisha kwamba hakuna alichokuwa amebakiza, alilipia deni lote kikamilifu. Hakuna mambo katika maisha yetu tunayotakiwa kupambana nayo wenyewe.
Kama ni Yesu ametutuma au kama kazi tunayoifanya imeanzishwa na Yeye, atatimiza mahitaji yake yote. Shida ni kwamba wakati mwingine tunafanya mambo fulani kabla ya wakati wake au tunachelewa. Tunatakiwa kutembea na wingu kwa spidi ileile ili tuweze kufanikiwa.
Bwana Yesu alimaanisha kwamba kazi ya Mungu ya kumkomboa mwanadamu ilikuwa imekamilika na kwamba mwanadamu hawezi kufa tena kisheria. Tulikuwa tumeuzwa kwa shetani, kwahiyo shetani alikuwa anatumiliki kisheria. Kwa hiyo sheria ilihitajika kutumika ili kutukomboa. Kama umeshitakiwa mahakamani halafu ukaokoka, hiyo haitasababisha kesi ifutike mahakamani. Lazima taratibu za kisheria zifanyike za kuifuta hiyo kesi. Shetani alikuwa na hati ya kutumiliki ambayo ameipewa na Adamu kwa hiari yake kabisa. Kwa hiyo ilikuwa lazima ukombozi ufanyike ili kuturudisha kwa Mungu.
