1 Thessalonians 1:10 “and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.” A person can be saved from sin and not be saved from the wrath to come. It is like God saved 600,000 men (if you include women and children, it could be 3 million) from Egypt, but only two made it to Canaan. The rest are those born on the way or on the journey. Few people reach their destination. We are supposed to be overcomers and more than conquerors to enter Canaan. It is not right to believe that if you are saved, you will go to Heaven even if you do evil (once saved, always saved). Many people worship God but do not overcome sin. The message to the churches of Revelation was, ‘to him that overcometh...’ and not ‘to him that is saved’. Salvation is a process towards victory. Salvation is like being registered as a student. You can be registered as a student and still fail the final test.

1 Wathesalonike 1:10 “na kumngojea Mwanawe kutoka mbinguni, ambaye alimfufua katika wafu, naye ni Yesu, mwenye kutuokoa na ghadhabu itakayokuja.” Mtu anaweza kuokolewa kutoka dhambini na asiokolewe na ghadhabu itakayokuja. Ni kama Mungu alivyookoa wanaume 600,000 (ukichanganya na wanawake na watoto wanaweza kufika milioni 3) kutoka Misri, lakini wakafika wawili tu Kanani. Wengine ni wale waliozaliwa njiani au safarini. Ni watu wachache wanaofikia hatima yao. Tunatakiwa kuwa washindi na zaidi ya washindi ndipo tutaingia Kanaani. Sio sawa kuamini kwamba ukiokoka utaenda mbinguni hata kama unatenda maovu (once saved, always saved). Watu wengi wanamuabudu Mungu lakini hawashindi dhambi. Ujumbe kwa makanisa ya Ufunuo wa Yohana ulikuwa, ‘ashindaye’ na sio ‘aokokaye’. Wokovu ni mchakato kuelekea ushindi. Wokovu ni sawa na kusajiliwa kuwa mwanafunzi. Unaweza kusajiliwa kama mwanafunzi na bado ufeli mtihani wa mwisho.
