GOD IS NOT TOO LATE
(This Is Your Moment)
There are moments when circumstances make you believe that God has arrived too late.
Main Text: Mark 5:22–23, 35–41
Jairus came to Jesus with an urgent request:
“My little daughter is at the point of death; I pray You, come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and live.” — Mark 5:23
Jesus agreed to go with him. But while they were on the way, another community need arises so He had to attend to it.
Then came the terrible report: “Your daughter is dead; why trouble the Teacher any further?” — Mark 5:35
1. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR STATUS TO STOP YOU FROM APPROACHING JESUS
Jairus was a synagogue ruler. He was a respected religious leader.
Yet when he needed help, he fell at the feet of Jesus.
Mark 5:22 says: “When he saw Him, he fell at His feet.”
Your miracle may begin when your pride ends.
2. DO NOT LOSE HOPE WHEN IT SEEMS GOD IS DELAYING
Jairus had asked Jesus to come quickly. But on the way, Jesus stopped to minister to another woman.
God may not work according to your timetable, but He is never late according to His purpose.
While you are watching the clock, God is working on the situation.
3. DO NOT ACCEPT THE REPORT THAT YOUR PROBLEM IS GREATER THAN GOD'S POWER
The people said: “Your daughter is dead; why trouble the Teacher any further?”
They were giving Jairus a conclusion based on what they could see.
But Jesus immediately responded: “Do not be afraid; only believe.”
Never allow somebody else's conclusion to become your prophecy.
4. GOD DOES NOT NEED A LARGE CROWD TO PERFORM A MIRACLE
Verse 37 says Jesus allowed only Peter, James, and John to accompany Him.
Jesus did not need the entire crowd.
Sometimes your miracle requires removing the voices of unbelief.
5. JESUS SEES LIFE WHERE OTHERS SEE DEATH
When Jesus entered the house, He saw people weeping and mourning.
Then He said: “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” They laughed at Him.
Never measure your future by your present circumstances.
What looks dead may only be waiting for the word of Jesus.
6. YOU NEED AN ANOINTED WORD TO RISE AGAIN
Jesus took the girl by the hand and said: “Talitha kumi,” “Little girl, I say to you, arise.”
And she arose.
Notice that Jesus did not merely speak about her. He spoke directly to her.
