MAKE TOUGH DECISIONS
(Your Destiny Is in Your Hands)
There are moments in life when you must make a tough decision—a decision that can determine whether you remain where you are or move into what God has prepared for you.
Main Text: Mark 5:24–34.
The woman in Mark 5 had suffered for twelve years. She had spent everything she had. She had consulted physicians, endured suffering, and instead of getting better, she became worse.
But one day, she made a decision: “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be healed.” — Mark 5:28
Her miracle began when she made up her mind.
Your destiny is not determined only by what happens to you; it is also influenced by the decisions you make in response to what happens to you.
1. BECOME FED UP WITH THE MAGNITUDE OF YOUR PROBLEM
The woman had suffered for twelve years.
She had spent all she had. She had gone from one physician to another, but her condition became worse.
But the woman said, “I will do something I have never done before.”
2. OVERCOME THE OBSTACLES TO TOUCH JESUS
The woman came to Jesus through a crowd. She had every reason to stay away.
Because of her condition, she was ceremonially unclean.
Yet she said: “I must get to Jesus.”
The crowd was an obstacle, but she was determined to overcome.
3. CONFESS WHAT YOU BELIEVE AND TAKE ACTION
Mark 5:28 says: “For she said, ‘If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be healed.’”
Notice the progression: She heard → she believed → she spoke → she acted → she received.
Faith is not merely what you believe privately. Faith eventually produces action.
4. RECOGNIZE THE SIGNS OF YOUR ANSWER
Verse 29 says: “Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.”
She recognized that something had changed.
Discern your season. Discern your opportunity. Discern your divine connection.
When God opens a door, don't spend your whole life standing outside wondering whether you should enter.
5. DRAW UPON THE POWER OF JESUS
Verse 30 says: “And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him...”
The woman did not merely touch Jesus physically. She touched Him with faith.
She expected something from Jesus.
6. YOU CAN BE WITH JESUS AND STILL FAIL TO TAP INTO HIS POWER
The disciples were physically close to Jesus. They saw the crowd pressing Him.
When Jesus asked, “Who touched My clothes?”, they were confused.
Being close to Jesus does not automatically mean you are receiving from Jesus.
7. YOUR MIRACLE IS NOT ONLY FOR YOU
When the woman received her healing, Jesus brought her forward.
She fell before Him and told Him the whole truth. Her testimony became public.
Psalm 66:16 says: “Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul.”
Your testimony is a weapon against discouragement.
8. SEEK LASTING FREEDOM AND STAND IN YOUR AUTHORITY
Jesus said: “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” — Mark 5:34
Jesus did not merely address the immediate symptom. He spoke peace over her future.
YOUR DESTINY IS IN YOUR HANDS
Your past may explain you, but it does not have to determine your future.
