LEND TO GOD, AND YOU WILL PROSPER

(Your Resource Can Trigger a Miracle)

There are moments when God wants to bless you, but before He puts something into your hands, He wants to see what He can use from your hands.

Main Text: Luke 5:1–11

Peter had a boat. Peter did not know that his boat would become the starting point of his greatest breakthrough.

What is in your hands that God can use? Your boat may be your money, house, vehicle, business, profession, skills, time, influence, education, land, technology, or even your testimony.

When you lend what you have to the Kingdom, God knows how to repay you.

Proverbs 19:17: “He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, and He will pay back what he has given.”

1. MAKE YOUR POSSESSIONS AVAILABLE TO JESUS

Luke 5:3: “Then He got into one of the boats, which belonged to Simon…”

Jesus needed a boat, and Peter had one.

There are things God has placed in your hands that are not only for you.

Do not ask only, “What can this do for me?” Ask, “How can this serve the Kingdom?”

2. YOUR EMPTY BOAT CAN STILL BE USEFUL TO GOD

Peter's boat was not full of fish. It was an empty boat. Yet Jesus still wanted it.

This is powerful because sometimes we think God can only use us when our lives are successful.

The boat was empty, but it was still useful.

3. WHEN YOU SERVE GOD, HE KNOWS WHERE YOUR PROVISION IS

After Jesus used Peter's boat, He told him: “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” — Luke 5:4

Jesus knew exactly where the fish were. Peter had the experience. Jesus had the revelation.

When Jesus gives you an instruction, obey it.

4. OBEY GOD EVEN WHEN YOUR EXPERIENCE SAYS OTHERWISE

Peter responded: “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, at Your word I will let down the nets.” — Luke 5:5

Peter’s experience said, “Nothing is there.” But the Word of Jesus said, “Let down your nets.”

One word from God can change the results of an entire season.

5. YOUR OBEDIENCE CAN PRODUCE AN OVERFLOW

Luke 5:6 says: “And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.”

The miracle followed obedience. Peter did not receive the catch because he had worked harder. He received it because he obeyed the Word of Jesus.

6. GOD'S BLESSING IS TOO BIG TO BE SELFISH

The catch was so great that the net began to break.

Peter had to call his partners. Luke 5:7: “So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them.”

God blesses you so that you can become a blessing.

7. KNOW YOUR LIMITS—DO NOT LET THE BLESSING SINK YOU

The boats became so full that they began to sink.

This is a warning. A blessing without wisdom can become a burden.

Never allow what God gives you to take you away from the One who gave it.

The blessing should lift you closer to God—not pull you away from Him.

8. THE GREATEST MIRACLE IS NOT THE FISH—IT IS THE TRANSFORMATION

Peter was astonished by the catch. But then something greater happened.

Luke 5:8: “When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees…”

Peter moved from recognizing Jesus as “Master” to recognizing Him as “Lord.”

God's blessing should produce deeper surrender.

9. GOD WANTS TO TRANSFORM YOUR PROFESSION INTO A KINGDOM MISSION

Jesus told Peter: “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.” — Luke 5:10

Peter was a fisherman. Jesus did not destroy his understanding of fishing.

He transformed it into a Kingdom assignment.

God does not waste your experience. He redeems it for His purpose.

10. THE MIRACLE REMOVED PETER'S FEAR ABOUT HIS FUTURE

Jesus said: “Do not be afraid.” Because Peter was about to enter a new season.

Verse 11 says: “They left everything and followed Him.”

KINGDOM PRINCIPLE:

When you lend to God, you are not losing—you are sowing into God's purposes.

But remember: biblical prosperity is not a formula that says, “Give something, and God must make you rich.”

Rather, it is a life of stewardship, obedience, generosity, wisdom, and Kingdom purpose, trusting God as your provider.
