Divine favor

DIVINE FAVOR  – Lawi Mshana

We need divine favor more than we need financial breakthrough. You can be rich and still lack divine favor. When you have divine favor you can easily attract money – money that can serve you and not you serving it. So divine favor is everything. To be favored means: "regarded or treated with favor"; "provided with advantages"; "specially privileged." Just think about that! God wants to give you special privileges. The favor of God will cause people to go out of their way to bless you without even knowing why they're doing it. And the more you are blessed, the more you can be a blessing.

When you get divine favor, you experience joy of the Lord and not happiness. Happiness depends on circumstances or happenings. Joy is an attitude of the heart. Joy is what Christians have and happiness is what the world has. A joyful person can never be selfish because JOY is short form (acronym) of Jesus, Others and You.

AREAS WHERE YOU NEED DIVINE FAVOR:

1. You need favor in the sight of your boss.

Gen 39:21 “But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. And the keeper of the prison put Joseph in charge of all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever was done there, he was the one who did it. The keeper of the prison paid no attention to anything that was in Joseph's charge, because the LORD was with him. And whatever he did, the LORD made it succeed.”

Joseph was falsely accused of rape attempt and so he was put in jail. Because of his faithfulness, God didn’t forsake him. He gave him favor. If God promoted Joseph in jail, how much more will He elevate you in your job and works you do in freedom? I believe you are going to be trusted by your boss from this day forward.

2. You need favor in the sight of unbelievers.

Ex 11:2,3 “Speak now in the hearing of the people, that they ask, every man of his neighbor and every woman of her neighbor, for silver and gold jewelry. And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants and in the sight of the people.”

When God delivered His people from slavery in Egypt, He gave them favor to collect valuables from Egyptians. I would like to warn people who have a tendency of despising people of other faiths. We may not agree with them in basics of our faith but this does not mean that God cannot use them to influence our life. God can use both good and bad people to accomplish His purpose. God used many evil kings to promote His people in Bible times. Probably people you stigmatize are the ones with your blessings. When you have divine favor you don’t need to purchase everything, you just go and ask and you get it! Imagine Egyptians handling over silver and gold to God’s people without any conditions. Remember silver and gold belongs to God and not men. We are just stewards of His possessions.  Hag 2:8 “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the LORD of hosts.”

3. You need winning favor in competition

Est 2:15-17 “When the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his own daughter, to go in to the king, she asked for nothing except what Hegai the king's eunuch, who had charge of the women, advised. Now Esther was winning favor in the eyes of all who saw her. And when Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign, the king loved Esther more than all the women, and she won grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins, so that he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.”

We are living in a world of competition. Whatever you do people will compete with you not only in business industry but also in spiritual ministry. We can overcome all because our weapons are not carnal (fleshly) but mighty in God. 2Cor 10:4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.” This race to be a queen needed divine favor and not makeup because Esther was Jewish and not Persian.

4. You need favor to overcome shame and embarrassment

1 Sam 1:9-11 “After they had eaten and drunk in Shiloh, Hannah rose. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat beside the doorpost of the temple of the LORD. She was deeply distressed and prayed to the LORD and wept bitterly. And she vowed a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your servant and remember me and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a son, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall touch his head.”

Hanna wa barren and was not satisfied with that kind of life. Instead of trying to cope with the situation, she chose to overcome it. She knew the right place for her prayer. Whatever you need ask yourself these two questions: Is this the right altar for my answers? Is this the appointed priest to be a channel for my answers? Whatever you are going through right now, you can overcome it in Jesus Name if you apply divine principles.

5. You need favor in words you speak and confess

Ps 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.” You will never prosper in life if your plans are not in line with your words. You need right words and right thinking. You are what you think (Pro 23:7). Job 22:28 “You will decide on a matter, and it will be established for you, and light will shine on your ways.” There is power in words you speak. They can fulfill or kill your destiny. Prov 6:2 “if you are snared in the words of your mouth, caught in the words of your mouth.” You can create problems or prosperity just by words you utter. Choose wisely the words you speak against your spouse or children. They may create a monster in a house to torment you forever.

My prayers for you:

1. I pray that God will grant you favour from your boss that he/she will never harass you, never humiliate you, will pay your arrears and will promote you.

2. I pray that God will connect you to people with your blessings and that He will open your eyes to see opportunities for your life.

3. I pray that God will give you power to overcome your competitors in employment, business and ministry. Any witchcraft directed towards you, I destroy it and reverse it back to the sender in Jesus name!
