DIVINE FAVOR IN YOUR LIFE
Proverbs 8:35 “For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord.”
Proverbs 3:4 “So you will find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.”
Luke 2:52 “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”
Types of favor
1.) Favor with those in authority – leaders, employer, boss
Gen. 39:21-23 “But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. The keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing. The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper.”
2) Favor to receive help from those who do not know God - unbelievers
Exod. 11:2,3 “Speak now in the hearing of the people, and let every man ask from his neighbor and every woman from her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold. And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people.”
3) Favor to overcome your competitors
Esther 2:15-17 – "Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her... And the king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins. So he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen."
4) Deliverance from shame
1 Samuel 1:16-18 “16 "Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now." 17 Then Eli answered and said, "Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him." 18 And she said, "Let your maidservant find favor in your sight." So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.”
5) Having words and thoughts that find favor with the Lord
Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
Job 22:28 “You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.”
