Principles for Attracting Financial Support

God often uses people as channels of His blessings. Although God is the Source of every good gift, He frequently delivers those blessings through individuals

Proverbs18:16 "A man's gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men."

1. Recognize That Those Holding Your Blessings May Not Release Them Easily

Text: Matthew 17:24–27

When Jesus instructed Peter to catch a fish, the money needed to pay the temple tax was inside the fish's mouth. The fish did not swim to Peter and voluntarily release the coin.

This does not mean fighting or manipulating people. Rather, it means exercising wisdom, patience, prayer, excellence, and persistence.

2. Cultivate Meaningful Relationships

Many opportunities are lost because people only contact other people when they are in desperate need.

Healthy relationships require consistent care.

People appreciate those who genuinely care for them.

Ecclesiastes 4:9: "Two are better than one."

Relationships are like gardens—they flourish when cared for regularly.

3. Strengthen Friendships Before You Need Help

Many people wait until they are facing financial problems before reaching out to friends.

Wisdom says to invest in relationships while things are going well.

Jesus taught:

Luke 6:38: "Give, and it will be given to you."

Remember: It is not the size of the gift that touches hearts—it is the sincerity behind it.

4. Understand What Matters to the Other Person

Genesis 27:4 "And make me savory food, such as I love...that my soul may bless you."

Likewise, if you desire to build meaningful relationships, learn what encourages, helps, or blesses others.

This is not manipulation. It is expressing genuine love through thoughtful actions.

5. Become Someone Worth Blessing

God blesses faithful, trustworthy, and diligent people.

Proverbs 22:29: "Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings."

Before asking people to open doors for you, become someone who is prepared to walk through those doors.

Character often attracts opportunities more than talent alone.

6. Trust God Above Every Human Being

People may become channels of blessing, but God alone is the Source.

Never place your confidence entirely in people.

Psalm 75:6–7: "Promotion comes neither from the east nor from the west... But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another."

If one person refuses to help you, God can raise another.
