BEWARE OF DEMONIC ALTARS

Not everyone who uses the name of God truly represents God. Jesus Himself warned us to beware of false prophets. Therefore, we must never allow charisma, miracles, popularity, titles, or religious appearance to replace spiritual discernment.

Our confidence is not in fear, but in Jesus Christ.
Psalm 55:12–14 reminds us that spiritual danger can sometimes come through people we know, trust, and even worship alongside.
1. BEWARE OF SPIRITUAL DECEPTION
Jesus said: Matthew 7:15: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”
False teaching may not always look dangerous at first. It can come through impressive personalities, attractive programs, religious language, or seemingly supernatural manifestations.
We should never imitate a person's faith while deliberately ignoring conduct that contradicts God's Word.
2. TEST EVERY SPIRIT
1 John 4:1: “Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God.”
Discernment is not suspicion of everyone. It is the ability to distinguish truth from error and what is of God from what is not of God.
The Word of God must remain our standard. Remember: Not everything supernatural is necessarily from God.
3. BE CAREFUL WHO YOU ALLOW TO INFLUENCE YOU
Psalm 55 shows the pain that can come when someone close to us becomes a source of betrayal.
We can respect people without imitating everything they do. We can listen without accepting everything. We can associate with people while maintaining biblical boundaries.
4. YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION CAN BE MISUSED
We should also exercise wisdom concerning the personal information, photographs, signatures, and commitments we share with others.
We should never sign forms containing vows, oaths, financial commitments, or spiritual declarations without first understanding what we are agreeing to.
Our faith must never be manipulated through deception or coercion.
Social media, television, and the internet can expose us to countless teachings.
We must not obey every instruction simply because it comes from a popular preacher.
Test it against Scripture. We should exercise wisdom when sharing photographs, identification documents, contact information, or other personal material—especially with strangers or questionable organizations.
Giving is biblical, but we should give to God with a willing and discerning heart.
We should never allow anyone to manipulate us into giving through threats, curses, promises of guaranteed wealth, or spiritual intimidation.
2 Corinthians 9:7 teaches that God loves a cheerful giver.
Sometimes people make intense statements during unhealthy relationships:
Such words can create unhealthy emotional dependence.
But we do not need to live under the power of words spoken in our past.
5. JESUS CHRIST IS GREATER THAN EVERY ALTAR OF DARKNESS
We must not preach Satan's power in such a way that people become more afraid of Satan than confident in Christ.
Colossians 1:13 says that God “has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.”
1 John 4:4: “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
Every false altar, ungodly agreement, destructive influence, and spiritual bondage must bow to the authority of Jesus Christ.
