EFFECTIVE SOUL WINNING
Our God has a methodology for growing His Church and winning the world
Matt 28:19,20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” According to the scripture above for the Great Commission, we see four steps to be considered:
Step No. 1: We are commanded to GO. This should take place daily at home and abroad. Remember to start from your Jerusalem (where you are based), all Judea (your whole country), Samaria (where you don’t have relatives and friends) to the uttermost part of the world (Acts 1:8).
Step No. 2: We go in order to WIN for Jesus our loved ones, friends, and strangers. This has nothing to do with making them religious. We make them disciples of Jesus who will follow Him daily and not only demonstrate their religiosity in church services.
Step No. 3: After we have won them we need to incorporate and assimilate them in the local church. We BAPTIZE them. We integrate them into the local church.
Step No. 4: We help them do for someone else what we have done for them. We TEACH them to obey the command of Jesus.
The Five Developmental Stages of the Soul Winner:
1. Allow God to give you a broken heart for the lost.
Jude 22: 'And have mercy on those who waver; save others by snatching them out of the fire; have mercy on others, coupled with a fear of God, hating even the clothes stained by the flesh'.
Romans 10:1 'Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God on behalf of my fellow Israelites is for their salvation.'
2. Use the plan until the first soul is won by the Lord.
Proverbs 11:30 'The fruit of the righteous is like a tree producing life, and the one who wins souls is wise'.
James 5:19,20 'My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, he should know that the one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path will save that person’s soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins'.
3. Lead converts to make public professions in the local church.
Matthew 10:32 'Whoever, then, acknowledges me before people, I will acknowledge before my Father in heaven'.
4. Train converts to do for someone else what you have done for them.
2 Timothy 2:2 'And entrust what you heard me say in the presence of many others as witnesses to faithful people who will be competent to teach others as well'.
5. Stay with it until you are a “witness/testimony to nations”.
Matthew 24:14 'And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole inhabited earth as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come'.
Isaiah 55:4 'Look, I made him a witness to nations, a ruler and commander of nations.'
A sinner needs to know this from the Bible:
1. All have sinned. Romans 3:23 'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.'
2. The penalty for sin is death & hell. Romans 6:23 'For the payoff of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
3. Jesus paid the penalty. Romans 5:8 'But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.'
4. If he believes and receives Christ, God will save him. Romans 10:13 'For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'
If you admit that you are a sinner and you need Jesus in your life, pray this prayer:
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.”
If you have sincerely prayed this prayer, YOU ARE BORN-AGAIN, YOU ARE A NEW CREATION.
Don’t allow feelings to lead you. You don’t need to feel it for you to be truly born again. I want to assure you that you are saved from this day forward.
Romans 10:9,10 'because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth, one confesses and thus has salvation.'
Now that you are born again, make it public. You have made the right decision. God will never disappoint you. Romans 10:11 'For the scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Let people know that you have accepted Jesus because He promised to acknowledge you also before His Father in heaven. Matthew 10:32 'Whoever, then, acknowledges me before people, I will acknowledge before my Father in heaven.'
